Truly fascinating doc about a disputed Physical disease called Morgellons disease. I learned a lot. This reminded me of the docs I've seen about UFO abductions and crop circles. Very mysterious is it true or are these people a little kooky and find each other and get even more committed to their illness? There are conferences, groups, a lot of online support groups. You feel bad considering maybe they are imagining it and picking at their skin for attention but you can't help but think that's a possibility.
They also found that 25% of the victims of this syndrome were in the Bay Area.
Watching some of the victims, the heart aches. Clearly they are needing someone to listen to them- but something is definitely "off". The attorney was so sad to watch. He's having trouble controlling his movements and often trips but likes to roll around in Heelies shoes? Wouldn't that make him fall even more? Just didn't make sense it's almost schizophrenic. The people at the conferences including the doctored have those kind of outsize personalities and seem to be clearly enjoying the camaraderie. Not sure if it's group psychosis. Almost feels like it.
It's amazing how medical doctors feed into it too. A handful are shown who believe Morgellons is caused by Lyme disease. The CDC denies it exists. Maybe it's something physical plus a psychological event? It's a mystery.
I hope these people find the help they need to get better.
