Intriguingly Stay Out, Stay Alive's plot surround itself with themes on greed, etc. It also has been screened in alot of horror film festivals since Barbara Crampton (of Re-Animator cult fame) has a small role.
This film centered on a group of millenials hanging in a hilly landscape, situated nearby a turn of the century goldmine. In these scenes, it's not much great dialogue in between friends.
One of the friends, Amy claims to have Native American heritage. Where discussion of Native stories are told, surrounding the abandoned mine. The grouping of young people continue to engage in pointless dialogue, around the campgrounds.
Around the last 30-40 minutes finally the film comes around with suspense building. At the point, it's saturated with twists, but it little late. In the end, this film can entertain but it weakest point, that it's very. slow build-up.

Shadowed by a haunting presence in the redwood forest, five young hikers discover an abandoned goldmine dating back to the Gold Rush and descend into madness and greed as the pursuit of easy riches consumes them. STAY OUT STAY ALIVE depicts the struggle of human nature and the curse of insatiable greed, and poses the questions "What would YOU risk - what would YOU sacrifice - for unimaginable wealth?" After an earthquake plummets Donna - one of the hikers - down a mine shaft where she is pinned under a rock, the group must choose between saving their friend or taking their time to unlawfully mine the forbidden gold for themselves. As the group degenerates into conflict, a ghostly remnant of the mine's past ratchets up the horror of the unfolding events.

Stay Out: Interestingly Enough but Too Slow
Mediocre at best.
Honestly, the movie was... okay.
It definitely wasn't good. But at the same time I've seen FAR worse.
The movie has some decent acting as well as some cringe worthy moments. Some of the plot points are okay, while others are naturally just stupid. Some characters sometimes do smart things, other times they're drooling morons.
Honestly it's the usual mix of low budget horror movie nonsense. It's an acceptable waste of time for an evening, but not something to go seeking out.
Bleh
Some really annoying characters in this movie and a lot of repetitive screaming make it just barely over unbearable. Not real deep on content.
Can't really give it more than a 3.
