Plot summary
Sean brings his dance crew known as The Mob to Los Angeles to try and make it. But they haven't had much luck, eventually the Mob decides it's time to go back to Miami but Sean decides to stay. He learns of a dance competition is Las Vegas wherein the winner will get a three year contract. Sean needs a new crew so he asks fellow dancer Moose for help. And Moose introduces him to Andie, another friend and dancer who got injured a few years ago and is now ready to get back in. He recruits some other friends and they head Las Vegas as LMNTRIX. When they get there, they discover that the Mob too is also there, which is very touchy for Sean.

ADORE THIS!
2nd favorite in this franchise so far.
This is probably my second favorite installment in this franchise. The 3D brings nothing new, but the dancing makes up for it. Sure, the movie as a whole is cheesy and the story is again nothing new. A hip-hop dance crew chasing after their dreams. There is bromance and few clash in relationships than and there, but the formula is basically the same. The 4 scenes that stood out for me which was the bar dance battle, one of the midnight practice scene, the boxing ring scene and the final dance battle. Sure they rely a lot on the props this time around, but seeing how a lot has already been done before in this genre. I give it a pass, plus the costumes and props are a nice eye candy. Plus this genre is driven by showmanship for the most part anyways. Especially the steampunk costumes, which I thought was pretty cool. Again the romance elements just seemed forced in and not really all that necessary. Overall, it's a fun dance flick that has what it takes to entertain if you are one of the audience member that like this genre.
6.5/10
decent dance movie
This movie is a decent entry in the Step Up franchise. It features plenty of good dance scenes (and not just in the rehearsal and performance parts) as well as a good story and good characters. Admittedly, it follows the usual clichés and other stuff you can find in movies, but it follows them well. It starts off when a guy talks about the demands and joys of being a dancer and then gets dumped by his dancing troupe;he forms a new one after finding out about a dance competition in Vegas. They train hard for it and enter. After learning stuff about it and stuff happening at it, things start to go awry, but of course they survive. You might like this movie if you are a fan of dance and feel-good movies.
