This is one of the best FF films I've seen, and I've seen a lot.
The main character is filming a survival guide documentary in the Montana forests, and it starts off bright and cheerful. The lead is great as Bailey Rhodes. He seems like a well-rounded character; a bit cocky, nerdy, and almost childishly innocent. This is especially true when he first encounters hostility.
I think it's intentionally funny having him slowly contradicting his own advice, and his refusal to acknowledge that he's lost. Instead he's merely momentarily 'disoriented'.
As the film progresses the story becomes increasingly more unnerving, especially as the protagonist is likeable. There's a brilliant practical effect near the end that left an impression on me. Due to some stunning shots and the overall atmosphere of the setting, this is a film I'd watch again.

Plot summary
Bailey Rhodes, a survival instructor with over ten-years of outdoors experience, ventures into a remote area of Montana to shoot a tutorial video. There, he comes to the malicious attentions of some violent poachers, who seem to take issue with his presence there. Rhodes becomes embroiled in a desperate life or death struggle in which he discovers that the reality of survival is very different to what he's been teaching in the classroom. Worse, he realizes there may be an even more malevolent force than these crazed hunters, lurking out there in the wilderness...

Good film...terrible survival guide
Unbelievably, impressively bad
The main character might be the worst actor I've ever seen, just marginally worse than whoever is playing his girlfriend on the phone. The way he delivers lines is so unnatural that one would think he would've had to TRY to be so awkward. Regarding his spoken lines, he sounds like he needs speech therapy, constantly stumbling over words and pronunciations, gargling the words more than speaking them. He clearly went out with cameras intent on his idea that he was going to act rather than just be natural. Even if you can deal with this awful speech and delivery for more than 15 minutes, there really isn't anything else to stick around for. The writing is absurd, the execution is abysmal and the acting is beyond poor. This one isn't worth struggling through.
Terrible
I made an account just to write this review... how it had a 6.0 when I viewed it, I will never know.
It's basically a low quality, self shot youtube survival "show" by a guy who is terrible at it... and them scary things start happening while he runs around lost in the forest.
I guess for a 500$ budget it was OK, but I wish I read an honest review like mine and saved myself almost 2 hours of wasted time.
