Justice for all
I love a good drama that brings not-your-everyday topics to the table for you to think about like The Collini Case did. I loved Elyas M'Barek since my early days when I was watching Türkisch für Anfänger on MTV; the way he behaves, speaks so clearly and always plays the very best out of the role he is given. Here he is a public defender who got the Collini case: a cold-blooded murder, first degree, nothing to discuss, but... he is a person of law which he swore to abide and protect and he has to defend even the cruelest scum in the Universe, that is if the defendant really is that bad. Any person should be considered innocent before proven otherwise or at least when taken in consideration his own side of the truth, his background story or simply his motive. This movie is very powerful and it will literally make you cry on account of many scenes and occasions; it tells us that we should never forgive the crimes of the past and let them go just because they happened a long time ago, we should never forget what the truth is and always be aware of the punishment that will eventually strike one way or another. Other than that it is a simple, predictable movie with great acting, relevant idea and pleasant soundtrack.
