After reading Mike_T-Little_Mtn_Sound_Archive's review I just had to watch this to see just how bad it was. Boy was he right, I gave it 1 star more than he did only because as I watched, and caught all of the things he mentioned I laughed so hard I almost threw up! The movie gets a two for the laughs, Mikes review gets a ten!

Nope... didn't get better as I watched
I started this and was pretty much immediately put off. Heavy metal soundtrack over civil war soldiers, flat line delivery to cover up lack of acting skills... too many jarring anachronisms. If you're going to insist on putting your story in a different era, do some freaking research and have the money to spend on selling it to the audience. Otherwise, just change it to be modern day.
There wasn't much to this, it wasn't clever or scary or shocking or surprising... just a long slog to the end. Oh well.

Sadly, fake reviews are what give this a high rating.
I chose to watch this for two reasons:
- I enjoy Civil War era storytelling
- It had a high IMDB rating.
Once again, I should have watched the trailer first, and read through the reviews, both things I almost always do. It seems like whenever I skip these two pieces, I end up picking the worst films to watch, and this was no exception.
Everything about this film is amateur, and by amateur I don't mean "indie" or "artsy," but poorly done & with little understanding. With the exception of the scenery, every other facet of the film is cringey:
- 19th century clothing without a spec of dirt on anyone? Houses in the middle of nowhere with concrete foundations? More than one character wearing digital watches? AMATEUR.
- the script tried to be smart & witty, but was flat-out horrible, mottled, and nonsensical.
- the camera work is awful. It feels like it was done with a camcorder, by the looks of the movie, and the shaky, meandering views are enough to make the viewer dizzy.
- terrible direction. Most of the movie has a narrator, which is supposed to be the voice of the little girl. At times, the narration drags on for minutes, simply rambling about concepts that have nothing to do with the film. Considering this is written by, directed by, and acted by the same dude (which is almost always the formula for a subpar film) it shouldn't have surprised me, but it did. Simply terrible.
- similarly, the script is painfully obtuse. There are moments where the narrative tells of events that have nothing to do with the movie...not anywhere. It's painfully boring, just listening to rambling that has no point or purpose in the film.
- the "special fx" are terrible. I'll leave it at that.
I wouldn't normally waste my time reviewing such a poorly made film, but because the rating is so obviously inflated, I felt I needed to add my experience. Please feel feee to check my hundreds of reviews...I RARELY give a film a '1' and try finding some sort of redeeming value in everything I watch. I simply couldn't find anything in this film that would lead me to recommend it.
