Lizzie McGuire(Hilary Duff) has finally graduated from middle school and now her class is taking a two week trip to Rome along with her best friend Gordo(Adam Lamberg),the snobby and popular Kate Sanders(Ashlie Brillault) and the airheaded but hilarious Ethan Craft(Clayton Snyder). Once Lizzie arrives in Rome, she meets Paolo(Yani Gellman)who is a famous pop singer and he mistakes Lizzie for Isabella, who is part of his pop duo and looks identical to Lizzie. Now Lizzie starts sneaking out of the hotel where her class is staying just to see Paolo and spend time with him. Paolo convinces her to pretend to be Isabella so that they can perform together at a big music show. But Paolo is not as perfect as Lizzie thinks and he might just not be the right guy for her. In the meantime, Gordo starts falling for Lizzie and tries to warn her about Paolo. I thought this was a very sweet and harmless movie. I didn't think that I would enjoy it as much as I did. I am a big fan of the Lizzie McGuire show and I was also not disappointed with the movie. Sure, it's made for young teenage girls so obviously not everybody will enjoy it. I thought it was a very fun movie, it also had a lot of funny moments, especially thanks to Alex Borstein who played Lizzie's teacher. Hilary Duff is so beautiful, I couldn't keep my eyes away from her. Anyways, I really enjoyed The Lizzie McGuire Movie and I would give it 8/10.

Plot summary
Teen queen Lizzie McGuire grows up a bit and hits the big screen in this comedy drama, based on the popular Disney Network series. Lizzie McGuire and her best friends Kate, Gordo, and Ethan have just graduated from middle school, and to celebrate, they're taking part in a class trip to Rome, Italy. Eager to celebrate their new maturity as high school students, Lizzie and her pals hope to live it up in one of Europe's most fabled cities, but fate has something more spectacular in store for Lizzie. Lizzie discovers that she bears a striking resemblance to Isabella, an Italian teen-pop idol famous for her duets with heart-throb Paolo -- so much so that when Paolo and Isabella have a falling out, he asks Lizzie to take Isabella's place for an upcoming concert. Lizzie, however, isn't sure she feels comfortable stepping into the spotlight, and is even less sure about the way she feels about Paolo, who makes no secret of his infatuation with her. Things don't get any simpler for Lizzie when her family gets wind of her newfound fame, and catch the next flight to Italy.

Hilary Duff Is So Beautiful!
Lizzie goes to Rome
The entire cast of the Lizzie McGuire Disney Channel television show got parts in this film one way or another as Lizzie's cast goes to Rome. But Lizzie got the adventure of a lifetime there romantically speaking. She gets wooed by Yani Gellman playing an Italian teen idol. The poor girl almost forgets her ideal teen hunk Clayton Snyder.
Lizzie McGuire was one of the nicest of the Disney teen comedy shows in the history of the Disney Channel. Hilary Duff was an appealing and wholesome teen role model. And I did like the way that they used to break into those cartoon vignettes very Strange Interlude like when Lizzie wanted to tell us her inner feelings.
Definitely a must for fans of the show.
harmless Disney princess movie
Lizzie McGuire graduates from junior high and it's highly embarrassing as usual. After being the joke in the news, she at least has a two week school trip to Italy chaperoned by Miss Ungermeyer. Miranda is in Mexico but Gordo and Ethan Craft is coming. Then her nemesis Kate joins them and to her horror, she is stuck with Kate as her roommate. In Italy, she discovers that she looks exactly like popstar Isabella and she starts hanging out with Isabella's duet partner Paolo.
Hilary Duff has a cute charm and it's too bad that this is the end of Lizzie McGuire. The European fling is a girl fantasy although I would prefer the movie to be all about her and her friends. It's missing Miranda. It also spends too much time away from the other familiar characters of the TV show. Paolo is a rather stiff cardboard character. This should be an easy road trip movie with all the characters together. It's pretty much a harmless if somewhat uncompelling end to a charming Disney kids show.
