Certain things are ... well predictable. A home invasion movie like this can go one of two ways ... and I'd say you can tell fairly quickly how or where this is going. But you can still have fun - fun like the actors are having with the movie. On the other hand you may ask: do we care about the characters ... well that is something that I can't really answer for you. Maybe you need that, maybe you don't.
I just know that certain characters act in a very bad fashion .. in a way that does not make any sense at all. And works against their own interest ... but serves the story and the intensity of where it is ultimately going ...

A pity...
I knew what to expect with this one, having seen the same time of small scale, low budget storyline play out time and again, particularly in Hollywood movie THE COLLECTOR and its sequel. However, I was interested to see how Maisie Williams would fare after GAME OF THRONES, but it turns out she's just the same as Arya albeit with different coloured hair. The best performances inevitably go to the elders, Rita Tushingham and Sylvester McCoy, both making the best of what they've got to work with. The thriller aspects are strong at the outset with a particularly unpleasant villain, but it all falls apart in the second and becomes increasingly predictable and ridiculous. A pity.
needs more supernatural
Gaz, Nathan, and Terry are casing a large home for robbery. Terry had heard that the owners have a large loot inside. Nathan's girlfriend Mary Voller (Maisie Williams) tracks down the trio and berates them. She needs the car to go to work. When the three breaks into the house, they find a safe in the basement but starts acting lackadaisical. After some time, Mary is pulled in herself and finally the elderly owners, Richard (Sylvester McCoy) and Ellen Huggins (Rita Tushingham),come home. Terry used to date Mary's twin sister Jane.
The start of this suggests something more supernatural. When the idiot boys are lounging and watching TV, I assumed that the house has drained them of their initiative. Next, we have Mary pumping the horn like a maniac. She doesn't have any self-awareness and I don't see any reason why she wouldn't know that these idiots are doing a break-in. It's also suddenly night time which again suggests something supernatural. That's what this movie needs to be. This needs to be a supernatural haunted house horror. The old couple could have been incorporated into that. The movie is not the best but some of it is fine. Terry is very annoying but that's par for the course. I kept thinking that Maisie Williams should be able to take out this old couple. They don't look that strong. Again, some supernatural strength would come in handy for this horror. This could have been better.
