For a Netflix original comedy this is actually legitimately funny. Obviously it's a ridiculous and unrealistic story line that's ultimate stupid but it's still funny as hell.

Actually pretty funny
dismembered member
Sean Floyd comes home from Germany to join his friends Donnie and Jeremy Abelar on a camping trip for spring break. Donnie is infuriated that Jeremy had invited his twin sister Becky and her best friend Sarah who happens to be Donnie's ex. The five young people get drunk in their camp and Jeremy accidentally cuts off his penis. It's a screwball adventure as Sean gives the wrong cooler and they must get Jeremy his penis before the 12 hour limit is up.
This is an outrageous silly comedy. Most of it has to do with Jeremy's dismembered member. If the sight of a wiggling dismembered penis is funny to you, then this is a movie for you. This is not terribly funny to me but it's mainly watchable. Most of the kids are likeable except for one annoying kid. The wrong hospital gag is not that compelling. I think everybody could predict the wrong hospital twist. There has to be a better in-your-face clock countdown and the ending should be getting to the hospital and not finding Jeremy's name. Then they are figure it out and climax. The crazy redneck girlfriend is somewhat funny in a broad slapstick way but otherwise, it's too static. There are bits like the rude kid that I like but in the main, I didn't laugh once.
Get it to the hospital...
Right, well while "The Package" does follow a very generic blueprint of how to make a teen comedy, then it still worked out well enough. Why? Well, because of the storyline and the funny situations that were present throughout the movie.
The characters in "The Package" were characters that you instantly took to heart and felt like you were right there with them cheering on them to get to the hospital in time, and laugh with them at all the hilarious situations that they ended up entangled with.
There was a good amount of laughs to be had throughout the course of this movie, and I was genuinely entertained by it. However, I will say that this is hardly a comedy that you will watch more then once, because the story just doesn't have enough leverage to support more than a single viewing.
The acting in the movie was good, and it was actually nice to see mostly new faces on the screen. It should be said that the cast were doing great jobs in portraying their individual roles and bringing the movie to life on the screen. I was especially surprised to see Michael Eklund in this movie, and his role was just brilliant.
"The Package" is definitely worth checking out if you like a good laugh and have no problems with the teenage comedy genres.
