WARNING: THIS MIGHT CONTAIN SPOILERS...
I grew up loving all sorts of movies. My favorite thing to do as a kid was browse the video store aisles and rent the biggest Blockbusters and to coincide with a Tom Cruise movie or whatever was hot at the time, I would also rent a lesser known independent film that had a cool cover or an actor or actress I recognized. If video stores were still around, I would have picked up this movie on the art work and cast alone. Cut to 2016 and things have changed, movies have changed as well as how they are made. One of the biggest problems today is anyone with an internet connection can write up a review of any film at any time (just as I am doing right now). Most people who write reviews are haters and I don't believe in being "cyber- brave" and just slandering someone's work. In that sense, I must respectfully disagree with the above user's review of this film. Sure it's mega low budget, sure it has it's problems, but honestly I was never bored and the whole time I kept thinking of how much it reminded me of the recent Wesley Snipes film "Gallowwalkers" which I had just watched. That film probably had five times the budget this film did and was way worse (IMO). What I did enjoy about The Sector is that is started with a very simple and familiar premise and it escalated into something I wasn't expecting. Our hero (Dresher) played by Richard Tyson (Buddy Revell himself) goes on a journey and encounters trouble and interesting characters along the way. The cameos were a real treat and I never once thought any actor was thrown into the mix (just because) as the previous user stated. Seeing Bennett from Commando, The Flash himself from the original and now Jay Garrick on the current Flash, Theo from Die Hard, Bishop from Aliens, and of course Maroni from the Dark Knight made me smile from ear to ear. The film has a cool twist at the end that took a very simple Sci- fi film into a complex one. It's not a masterpiece by any means, but I didn't rent this thinking it would be. It's a movie for a lazy Sunday or a late night watch. I give films like this a break due to the fact the producers clearly didn't have a lot of funding. It's the films that do have the funding and still come up ridiculously short is what bothers me...In closing, watch the movie, decide for yourself, most reviews are written by people with an axe to grind, most of them failed filmmakers, I always believe the truth lies in the middle and that's why I'll give the sector 5 out of 10.

Why does this movie exist
I'm a sucker for sci-fi post apocalyptic films but this wasn't worth the watch.
This movie is badly shot, horribly scripted, and poorly cast. B movie doesn't mean bad film; for some reason people feel that producing a B-movie means, "Lets go make the worst low budget film ever".
There were several actors in the film that I wished had better lines or bigger roles in the film. I couldn't figure out why they cast the actor that they had as the protagonist.
(spoiler alert) I really didn't get the sub-plot, with the alternate reality nonsense, it was completely irrelevant. I couldn't figure out why they stuck Lance Henriksen in the role. It just seemed like they wanted to get people to watch their movie; so they got certain celebs to show up for bit parts in their film. Bit parts that just made no sense to the plot of their film.
Then there was the very noticeable plastic props. I mean really, at least put something on or over your "Toy" weapons; to hide the glare of the plastic from the camera.
I have no idea who helped find the locations and created the sets for the film. They could have at least used filters for the shoots, set up lighting, and found barren settings to film in if they had a low budget to no-budget.
Then there was the digital blood; it looked noticeably fake.
I've seen Hollywood quality, 10 minute shorts on Youtube, filmed with an iPhone, produced by High School Students, that look, sound, and feel better than this movie.
There's no excuse for this at all ...
I'm the Finisher
After a computer virus causes the apocalypse...okay...take a deep breath and a moment to get past this because it caused economic collapse, death and wars, but the details are fuzzy...okay downright furry. Dresher (Richard Tyson) is a bounty hunter from Union City who drinks Red Eye and has no memory. He goes out into "The Barrens" to hunt his bounties. He is offered a big bounty for John Anson (Matthew Tompkins) who is surround by a band of men. About 50 minutes into the film, things get weird when we meet Lance Henriksen and the whole plot becomes more inane than the computer virus taking down the planet. Oh yeah, Eric Roberts has a cameo...Senator bad guy, no shock there.
The silly cliché stuff was the best part of the film. I thought the twist made the film silly as if they attempted to combine two different films into one. The cult scene was done poorly. Why did the black guy speak like he was from Africa in an old movie? The twist is mentioned in the IMDb story line. Was that digital blood? Guide: No swearing or sex. Butt nudity
