This is a slow-paced tale (I'm into the 27th minute!) of poverty in the southern Italian countryside TODAY. The directors based it on the hardship of their "nonna" 50 years ago, and that is the problem of this well-acted and well-crafted film. I understand that "illegal" migrant workers today suffer these problems and abuse but the characters are Italian-born. They can apply for Social Security, don't have to live in a shantytown. But hey, I'll watch the remaining hour and 16 minutes...
