Try not to laugh.

When a film is almost two years old and only has four reviews you should perhaps take that as a sign to avoid it.

Hey! I'm a glutton for punishment and punishment is what awaits you if you stumble across this 'Film'.

Less than 20 minutes in and already i'm questioning why i decided to watch this. The party on the boat has been the best part so far.

So the lad cuts his foot, they all(for some reason) go ashore and after stumbling across a young boy i presume was meant to be 'Demonic' our intrepid explorers set off in two groups to find a Doctor leaving the injured party and his girlfriend alone on the pebbled beach. Where do our two groups head in order to find a Doctor? Into the centre of Town? No!! One grouping heads into the woods while the other group hugs the shoreline. Now i don't know about where you live or indeed if you know many coastal towns but i'm not overly familiar with Doctor Surgeries being situated either in the middle of a woodland or directly down by the shore.

Of course i've already hear the phrase "Don't make a sound" around a half dozen times but no one actually ever tells them why they shouldn't make a sound and of course they don't think to ask. In a similar situation i think i might want to know why i'm being told to be so quiet. Is it that the town all work Nightshift? Is it a cultural or even Religious thing? Either way our intrepid idiots decide this the cue to make more noise than they perhaps would normally... Wish me luck for the next 40-50 minutes and take the advice of myself and the others who have reviewed this and 'Don't Watch'.

He knows you're here

A group of young pale adults are partying on a boat to cheer up Michelle (Saras Gil) which doesn't seem to be working. Steve (Ben Vinnicombe) gets a nasty, non-life threatening cut on his foot, so everyone goes to the small village on the beach which has even paler people. The villagers act strange and tell our party group to be quiet and leave or else he will hear you. We had an animated sequence during the credit run and we get some more explanation with a dream and then it completes at the end. Difficult to figure out the "Final Girl" as the feature is not a formula film or plot. Certainly I expected certain people in the party to go before they did.

While I claim I love something new and unique in horror, I don't love them all. While I can give kudos for the plot, but making it into a mystery didn't help my enjoyment of a film whose execution went around in a circle... like the island. Film was extremely uneven with too many bad scenes and characters whose behavior was questionable. I did think the kid (Pol Baulida) was neat with an adult dubbed voice.

Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity. Pale skinny girls in bikinis.

Don't Bother

7 partying young people get stranded on a mysterious island seeking first aid. The less-than-helpful villagers only tell them, "Shhh!" The young people proceed to scream and holler.

Don't Speak has almost no redeeming qualities. This is not just direct-to-video, this is direct-to-Vimeo. However small the budget-- and it was small!-- DS wasted it. The acting is wooden and over-dramatic in turns. Even if that wasn't the case, the dialog is flat, awkward, not even functional. There's no building of suspense beyond the villagers' warnings, no foreshadowing, and even if there was, it wouldn't matter, because the characters are unlikable and nobody is going to care what trouble they get themselves into. The camera work is nothing special, on the amateur side, with way too many shots of small groups walking (yes, they split up, duh).

The one good thing about this film was a short, surreal dream sequence that lasted less than a minute, apparently painted-over film, which was aesthetically interesting. The rest? Toss it all out.
