The movie itself isn't very good with the main actors primarily just phoning it in. But on top of that the movie is made or sponsored by the Chinese government and is laced with propaganda. The main propaganda is that China is a developed country with a lifestyle similar to America, and further that China is at a technology level equal to or more advanced than America. By impressing young people with this propaganda, China is obviously trying to normalize these perceptions in young people who don't have the critical ability to recognize what they are being subjected to. For someone who can think critically, the propaganda is blatantly obvious. The story itself is moderately amusing but overall it's a weak movie in most respects.

Chinese Film In guise as American Movie!
This is a Chinese production, but filmed in the USA, using American actors, but plenty of Chinese actors, locations and ideals peppered throughout the film, the marketing cleverly aims at giving an all American Movie. On face value the film is well acted with great actors all round, story is fine, although a little do much dog licking, generally a good film for the family. But unfortunately spoilt by the Chinese message that lies underneath.
Censored?
I have tried to submit a review for this film twice and both times it's been rejected. Is it because I referred to this film as being perhaps more stinky than the leavings of the main pooch? Anyhow I'll try again. It's almost worth seeing the start just to see how they shoehorn in the Chinese market appeal. Blatant and sad.
Josh Duhamel though... drool. Even as an old daddy there's just something about him.
