I like the attitude and people living in a non discriminated environment. Problems not change how we live but attitude does. I love the spirit of this movie and we are all equal, treasure the time when you are young.

This was a strange one. Maybe it would have worked better in 2011 when it was set. I don't know why, but I struggled to get into the characters. And I'm Troye Sivan biggest fan, top 0.01% according to Spotify. It was however a good story that doesn't get told all that often, and it was handled really well. I must just be out of touch with the youths.

I happened to come across this movie by accident as I saw the poster and it looked different. Knowing nothing about it I gave it try, but quickly got turned off by the sheer wokeness. This was like an exercise in woke checkboxes and it fulfilled its goal. It's not the first gay movie so it didn't break any new grounds. Certainly not the first to deal with AIDS either, which is another story.

If you are going to make the central part of your movie about gays and AIDS, then do something different that hasn't been done before but I suggest you don't make either of those the premises, as they have been done before and much better.

I'm not surprised to see this is an MTV movie because lately, they seem to wanna make every movie about social issues compared to comedies. I don't think I believed one moment of this. The cast was made of the new standards in Hollywood, the lead character annoying, the dialogue not reflective of anything real. Ellen Burstyn is usually amazing but she played this weird caricature, almost like she was in a bad sitcom.

And then the story was so 1987. In the end, the writer/director pushed too hard for an emotional reaction, but it was just that. Too forced.
