I hadn't seen this film in over twenty-five years. It had appeared (drastically cut) on the "CBS Children's Film Festival" in the seventies. I saw it again tonight. I had been searching for several years to find it on video. The film appeared uncut, but the colors were terribly faded. I was still mesmerized at the beauty of the film. Even my ten year old son mentioned how wonderful the music was. Sure there are some aspects of the story that are unbelievable, but it is a great fantasy. The actors who played Tiko (child and adult) are both very charismatic and probably deserve much of the credit (along with the music and cinematography) at the success of this film. Note: the dubbing job is less than stellar. Note: the CBS version deals mostly with Tiko as a child.
