Olive Smith (Amanda Crew) is out title character that hasn't been told she is tone-deaf sparing her feelings even in adulthood. After losing her boyfriend and her job, she is talked into taking a weekend in a country home. She rents a home from Harvey (Patrick Roberts) who has issues with millennials to say the least, believing the world would be better if they all drank a gallon of bleach and stop overpopulating the planet. Her mother lives on a commune who Olive worries about her student loans.
This is an Indie style comedy with quirky characters that are flawed, but lovable. The slasher aspect is not as graphic as a horror film, but it does have blood.

When I was a kid, we didn't have dreams
hitting all the right ... no?
The movie itself and most of the story is sub-par. But what elevates it (at least in my humble opinion) are the actors involved. Not that the performance won't get a lot of disbelieve, rather the way they throw themselves at even the most crazy and weird idea out there.
Having said that I have been accused multiple times that I've been too kind when rating and discussing movies. That is not always the case I can assure you. When I feel a movie having heart and passion (more than ordinary that is) and doing good by its premise I try to incorparate that into my "critique". Just a fair warning ... as is me saying that I like the two lead actors
failed to achieve what it was going for
This movie is weird. i like weird movies. but the weirdness in this movie didn't seem to serve any kind of purpose. it felt like weird for weird's sake. and it didn't add anything of value to the movie.
it kept my attention for most of the movie. i didn't like or dislike it, but i was along for the ride. it felt like a four or five out of ten. but the last half-hour was filled with some really stupid and unbelievable parts.
this movie is a horror comedy that didn't make me laugh or scare me. for the most part it wasn't horrible, but the most important parts were horrible. (1 viewing, 7/19/2020)
SPOILERS
i know this isn't the kind of movie you should take seriously, but you cannot ask me to be okay with a person not knowing the difference between holding a contact lens or a spider between her fingers.
and the way the final confrontation wrapped up just didn't sit right with me. things just sort of happen. it didn't feel clever or, at the very least, natural.
