Elizabeth Banks tries so hard

Meghan Miles (Elizabeth Banks) is a L.A. local TV reporter. Her boyfriend Kyle left her taking most of their stuff. She lost the network anchor job to Wendy Chang. Her friends Rose (Gillian Jacobs) and Denise (Sarah Wright) takes her out to the clubs to forget her troubles. She gets locked out of the club and a stranger named Gordon (James Marsden) takes her back to his place. When she wakes up, she finds her car towed, she has no money, and she is being reconsidered for the network job as long as she could make it to the station for her nightly news job. It begins a long and eventful walk of shame.

Writer/director Steven Brill has made a completely ridiculous unbelievable stupid story. The only good thing here is Elizabeth Banks going for broke getting into every possible embarrassing situations. However it's just too unlikely that she can't get any help even though she has over 12 hours. If Brill shortens the time, it would help a lot and leave it happening in the middle of the night. Maybe she could be a morning host.

The other part is that Meghan is better off with a constant partner she can bounce stuff off of. I liked it when she got to the crack dealing gang. They have some funny moments. It's the only time where she finds some friendlier people and they could have been a great gang together. It would have been a lot better for her to stay with them. It's a shame that this walk from Banks was wasted.

One of the Funniest Comedies Recently Released

In Los Angeles, the journalist Meghan Miles (Elizabeth Banks) is disputing the anchor position of a TV network with another candidate. Megan is a calm woman from Texas that has just broken with her boyfriend. Her friends Rose (Gillian Jacobs) and Denise (Sarah Wright) come to her house to celebrate her new job, but she learns that the other candidate has won the position. However her friends convince her to go to a night-club to drink to forget the deception and she wears a sexy yellow dress. She gets drunk and a stranger called Gordon (James Marsden) offers to drive her home, but she prefers to go to his apartment and they have one night stand. When she wakes up, she finds a message in her cellular from a friend telling that she had been selected for the anchor position and her friend advises her to rest since her audition will be on the next day. Meghan leaves Gordon's apartment and finds that her car has been towed away with her purse. Further, the door of the building is locked and she does not know the number of the apartment where Gordon lives. So she decides to take a cab to retrieve her car, but the driver is a foreigner and misunderstands the tow place and she ends alone without money in the red zone downtown LA. Meghan sees a police car but the officers are douchebag and believe she is a prostitute. Meghan stumbles with drug dealers that try to help her but she only gets in trouble during the long night.

"Walk of Shame" is one of the funniest comedies recently released. The gorgeous and sexy Elizabeth Banks is a great comedian and she is fantastic in the role of a woman that only wants to take her car back. The story recalls the storyline of "After Hours" and is a great entertainment for a Friday evening after working for one week. My vote is seven.

Title (Brazil): "A Minha Casa Caiu" ("My House Felt Down" – literally, but meaning "my life is destroyed")

ALMOST HANG OVER!

To my surprise, this movie turned out to be one of the best comedies I have seen over a couple of years. It had been a long time I laughed like that watching a movie. Unexpectedly, I never thought it would be. Meghan Miles was amazing. The best character in the movie, no doubt, with his magnificent hilarious accent, the pookie guy. He was the base of the comedy. The Crack house, the pot, everything was hilarious. A laugh riot. It is highly underrated. I need more like this.
