I enjoy a slow burn. I also enjoy films that are set in one location. I also really enjoy films that are purposefully ambiguous and keep the audience in the dark for most of the film. Unfortunately, I enjoy these things when they are DONE PROPERLY BY COMPETENT PEOPLE. This movie was not made by competent people. It was made by people who don't watch movies, horror or otherwise. Why else would they bother making such a purposefully obtuse film?
It begins with a family "trapped" in the bathroom. I say "trapped" because, really, who builds a house where the bathroom is the most impenetrable room? 6 feet of wall? Tempered glass for windows? This isn't the damn Congressional building. It's a house, and to think having a family trapped in the most ridiculous location was bad enough, it just continues to get worse.
We have an unhinged husband, a useless/scared wife, a horrible daughter and a son too young to really do anything interesting throughout most of the film. Then comes the flashbacks of the daughter doing horrible things with an equally horrible person, and apparently those things are what set the events of the movie in motion.
In the end, I was left with SO MANY QUESTIONS, but did I actually care for the answers? So it wasn't really a storm; What was it? The apocalypse? Did the girls summon a demon? What was the "good boy"? Why didn't they start chipping away at the walls from the first day? Who builds a bathroom with a solid oak door? Why wasn't this movie made by better people, and how was it not shredded to bits by focus groups before it was released?
Ultimately, it's not a movie anyone will remember in a few years, and anyone who does will not have fond memories of it. It's a waste of a good premise and with a truly competent team, would have been something worth talking about.
In the end, I wasted and hour and 40 minutes of my life and wrote this review to save you the trouble of doing the same. If I can keep even one person from watching this, I would have done the Lord's work.
I gave it 3 stars because the "good boy" scene was genuinely creepy. That's about it it.

I wanted to like this movie until I didn't. What a shame.
You Need to Pass on this One
Starts off pretty OK and looks like it might be a keeper.
But early on withteh first flashback things take a turn and the movie starts to suck.
The acting is only marginally good but the father is horrible. He's abrassive without reason and becomes more and more annoying with his over the top bad acting.
Soon the movie is nothing more than tedious.
Then we find out it wasnt just a tornado. Something more sinister is happening. But by this time you won't care. Plus, it's not all that interesting.
No need to watch this crap. It's really bad.
The ending and bad acting are the biggest problems
It actually started off OK. I like such claustrophobic films where people got stuck in such spaces which is a bathroom during a tornado in this case. The daughter and her girlfriend who used to be a cutter put a spell on some guy by ripping off the tongue from the dead dog that's buried in their backyard. It was really gross and intriguing. Then the father had mental breakdowns every 15 minutes or so which became a bit too annoying. The son got bit by a rattlesnake and died. The daughter saw his dead body with maggots in the bathtub and it was really creepy. She got attacked by the dog thru the jammed door and she ate some of the ripped tongue. The daughter then killed her annoying father and then the mother found a way out and she was shocked and something attacked the two. I wish we could see what's outside and does it have to do with her girlfriend. The payoff was very weak and it should have been at least twenty minutes shorter than it is. The biggest problem was the bad acting though.
