This documentary skims the surface of the American justice system, and doesn't dig deep enough to present anything more than what the media originally published. The documentary should have been an attempt to uncover even more about Charity's disgusting character... Yes "without Charity" there would have been no murders, but she had way too much screen time smiling and playing the victim for me to think this was a good true crime doc.
She did much more than "run her mouth" to the 4 men. She lied to her friend to get the car, sought the men out, was inside a house with them for a long time, alone with one for 45min in a bathroom (which they don't even ask her about),had motive to target her boyfriends house, drove them to the house, knew it was going to happen... These are all facts that got her convicted, but I don't know... the film just presents this and doesn't do enough to expose more.
She's not that smart, they could have had her saying more in the interviews, but I don't think they were asking the right questions. This shouldn't have been about "would this have happened without Charity?" it should have been about "look at how guilty she is and how horrible the justice system is"... I mean, I guess it ends up being that, but not explicitly enough.

Truly disgusting
Trailer trash go's slumming
A manipulative little white girl finds out that street life has very real consequences. Charity hooks up with four black men at a mall and convinces them to rob and kill her ex boyfriends rich parents. The black men of course do hard time, but because of a technicality poor innocent charity only gets 7 years. The judicial system is a broken archaic joke. White privilege may have played a part in this, but female privilege is ever present. One look into charity's cold dead bug eyes and you can see an undeniable sociopath.
Great documentary
A perfect example of poor parenting that can lead to disastrous consequences- I got the impression that I'm supposed to feel sympathy for 'poor Charity', but lost in her nonsensical blather and that of her friends and family, is 3 victims who in absolutely no way did nothing to contribute to their deaths other than being at work. All that needs to be considered is, if not for this honey pot having her filthy, manipulative fingers in the hellacious concoction of a crime, three men would still be alive. Charity had a history of bad decisions; she had so many opportunities to do the right thing but rather, chose to stroll down the path that ultimately led to the decimation of innocent people. She still does not accept any blame on her part, and chooses to point her scraggly fingers at anyone else- from the mean media, to law enforcement who supposedly all lied, to her attorney, but cannot seem to be an adult and accept that, without her, this DOES NOT HAPPEN. PERIOD. Her friends should be ashamed of themselves for their naivety and willfully ignorant defense of Charity- you can almost forgive family for their views, as most wont see the blame for their child because that points out their own failures as a parent. The lying cohort of hers, who actually lies to the camera with a straight face, despite us knowing the actual facts, trying to play Charity as a 'poor victim' is disgusting. For someone who supposedly doesn't know her, suddenly he knows that she never would have allowed the brutal murders to take place. I liked this documentary because it shows the absolute stupidity of people and how blind they can be to their despicable nature, and how someone who is guilty to work the system and be set free despite murder convictions. Be warned, you're going to be practically shoved into believing poor sweet Charity is just an innocent victim, but rest assured, she is nothing close to that.
