Let's get it out - it's not MCU, DC, PIXAR or any other Attention deficit disorder production, filled with shaky cam, jump cuts, explosions, P. C. or Woke characters, desperately trying to mimic the last blockbuster that attracted the attention of the muggles.
So if you don't like this - congrats - you're one of those muggles for whom Wholly Weird, et al, make ugly radio.
I'm reminded of the snark, "It's French, don't try to explain it..." No bombastic eye tearing state of the art CGI - just a story. A story with a humble moral : don't jump to conclusions before you get to the end of the story.
It's not "Fantastic Planet" - but it has its own internal logic. I rather enjoyed it, and that's all one can expect - entertainment.

Plot summary
Quebec City, 1956. Nelly Maloye, an ebullient novice detective, accidentally crosses paths with Simon Picard, an ambitious research assistant in anthropology at the local university. Backed by a glory-seeking philanthropist, the intuitive but disorganized Nelly and the methodical, obsessive Simon set off on a wild adventure, determined to prove the existence of the Abominable Snowman. To achieve this goal, Simon relies on the coded diary of a missing explorer - a diary that should lead them to the mythic creature's lair. Accompanied by Tenzig Gombu, a clever and enigmatic young Sherpa guide, and Jazzmin, a talkative myna bird, our heroes confront a host of dangers in the heart of the Himalayas as they seek that legendary beast: the Yeti.

It's -well- different
Could have been really good
An explorer and a detective are hired by a wealthy spoiled brat (whose family money funds a museum) to find proof that yetis exist. After long convoluted travel they finally come upon the yetis. There are several of them living happily together in a tribe. After some interaction the explorer group decides to keep their discovery to themselves because they know that the world will hunt the yetis down and put them in museums if word gets out. Knowing that the yetis are safe the explorer and the detective set off on further adventures.
I'm a grown adult but I still enjoy the occasional movie whose main target is children. This one had real potential but it was too drawn out and very boring. I hate to interject realism here but there is no way they would have survived traipsing all over that rough wintry terrain with no food or adequate provisions (most of which were lost when their plane crashed). Plus they had to drag their guide along behind them on a sled because he hurt his leg. It was all just way too ridiculous.
If I'm an adult who has a pretty good attention span and I got bored-there is no way young children will be able to follow this. The yetis only show up towards the end of the film and they aren't on screen for long.
Don't know if there was some kind of language barrier breakdown due to this being Americanized but it just didn't translate. There are other yeti movies out there like Abominable (2019) and Smallfoot (2018) that have done a better job. Watch those instead.
It's a cartoon.
It's a cartoon, it's fiction, it's just intertainment for young audiens. So if isn't historically right or language either, get over it. It's for Kids to watch.
