I thought this was beautifully shot, had an excellent score and the acting was decent.
I didn't find it slow in the slightest, a wonderful atmosphere was built up from the start, and the house really added to the atmosphere.
The budgetary constraints were only obvious on a couple of occasions, some effect had been added and it really showed it was shot on video on my TV.
Overall though an excellent haunted house film, and one I'll certainly watch again, it held my attention throughout.

I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I actually like the film. Why is the overall score around 3 out of 10?
I saw this movie and I actually like the film. The color grading picture is perfect. The script is interesting. Acting is good, not bad. The only thing that I dont like about the film is the sound effects. The sound effects sound bad and cheap which kinda ruins the film a little bit. Overall this is actually pretty watchable.
Nifty supernatural horror outing
1960's England. Nice young guy Blake Cunningham (a solid performance by David Lenik) and his snarky alcoholic mother Margot (sharply played by Tessa Wood) are forced out of necessity to move into a mysterious and isolated manor to take care of their dying grandfather. Turns out said manor is haunted.
Writer/director Charlie Steeds relates the engrossing story at a deliberate pace, makes good use of the sprawling mansion main location, ably crafts an eerie atmosphere, and pulls out the stirring stops at the exciting and harrowing climax. Emma Spurgin Hussey lends sturdy support as sinister caretaker Marian Clark. A neat little movie.
