One of the better krimi films out there, even if it is based on a novel by Bryan Edgar Wallace rather than his father. It's one that held my attention throughout with the story of a string of murders taking place at a rich, horse-owning estate. There's ample humour here, titillation, a mystery mega-villain, and constant elaborate murders to save you from boredom.

This put me to sleep
Based on a book by Bryan Edgar Wallace, son of Edgar, this is a not very good film. It has something to do with trying to kill one horse so it won't run, killing jockeys and other nonsense. I was watching this for almost half its running time before I had any real sense of what was going on. Mostly it seemed like rich people wandering about being excited that there is at last another corpse in the castle. This has got to be the dullest of the films made from a story by either of the Wallaces. This is a time killer of the worst sort. I'd avoid it unless you're in need of sleep. Actually you'll be better off trying to find another film in the Wallace series. 3 out of 10
