Absolutely loved this film. Another example of quality writing/directing shining over those huge budget films where things go bang and no one cares about the characters. This was amazing.

A movie with high expectations from the synopsis but I felt it just quite didn't hit the point as hard as it could have and it was so slow moving. If there could have been more to this movie then I would have given this a 7.

I'm not sure if the director felt compelled to hold back but some scenes were raw and to the point and if this had continued with more depth and more often throughout the movie it could have been great.

Worthy of more stars except the discrimination showcased in the movie was replicated in the making of this DVD as they failed to add subtitling for those needing hearing help and deaf viewers. Also important if dialogue is important as enunciation and dialect can hamper understanding. A re-enactment of the King riots in '92 LA except little or no rioting shown. The focus was on Korean store owners and how they interact with the black community; mostly distrust amongst all parties. A lot of four letter obscenities and frequent reference to getting "free s..t" i.e. stealing; not uncommon where there's poverty.
