Honk if you love a hot mess!

This movie is everything that is wrong with the church! Lol. The cast is great, It's got some of my favorites (Regina, Nicole, Sterling). Regina is really funny in the movie.

Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul. Is a satirical comedy starring Regina Hall as Trinitie Childs - the proud first lady of a Southern Baptist megachurch, who together with her husband Pastor Lee-Curtis Childs (Sterling K. Brown),once served a congregation in the tens of thousands. But after a scandal forces their church to temporarily close, Trinitie and Lee-Curtis must reopen their church and rebuild their congregation to make the biggest comeback that commodified religion has ever seen.

Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul. Is a 2022 American comedy film written, directed, and produced by Adamma Ebo, in her feature directorial debut. It is a feature-length adaptation of Ebo's 2018 short film of the same name. It stars Regina Hall and Sterling K. Brown, who are also producers on the film alongside Daniel Kaluuya, who produced under his 59% Productions banner, with Jordan Peele serving as executive producer under his Monkeypaw Productions banner.

Tune in.

Having lived my entire gay cultivation in Atlanta with undergrad and a few years after, the focus of the story was all too familiar, and I chuckle every time I think about it because it doesn't need to be this way; and I see the team behind this story felt the same way.

I want to give major props to Chelsea Zotta who is listed as the script supervisor for continuity. This film does a really good job telling this story of internalized conflicts with faith, authenticity, passions, and truths.

BUT... applause, roses, cheers all goes to Regina Hall and Sterling K Brown. Such great individuals chosen to lead a story like this. I mean, just phenomenal.

OTHER THOUGHTS: Highlights: Regina Hall and Sterling K Brown! Thematic followthrough, Acts 2 and 3, the symbolism of "the hat," the directorial/production style, the wardrobe, and the "Crime Mob" moment.

Could've Been Better: I honestly think this was a well executed film. We just live in a society where "church" is one of those "things" that isn't widely sellable as a means to garner more attraction for a film like this.

I see church folks are dragging this movie! It's not that deep!

This movie was good. Period. Anyone on here bashing it is doing just that. This is like if Greenleaf was a documentary vs a show. You get glimpses into the hypocrisy of this mega church and it's disgraced first family...ala Bishop Eddie Long....hmph. Whoever wrote the script is VERY familiar with prosperity gospel and it shows. Lots of funny moments. Some "Y'all, be for real" moments lol. And some "Oop, that's the true tea" moments. I enjoyed it. I'd even watch it again! Give it a shot. At worst it's a good watch, but a 5 it is not.... UNLESS you are hating or this isn't apart of your culture.
