MOST WANTED is a late-stage sequel to the original Spike Lee movie INSIDE MAN, jettisoning any of the cast members and character connections. Instead this is a straightforward heist-style movie in which a gang of robbers take over the federal reserve for a protracted 10-hour hostage drama. It's undoubtedly a low budget movie with a predictable feel, but I didn't mind it all that much. I like the way the action focuses on the inside, where the drama is; the negotiator scenes are quite dull but don't take up too much of the screen time. The cast members are all right (I liked Roxanne McKee in GAME OF THRONES and she reveals a similar feistiness here) and there's plenty of incident, building to a fitting climax.

This is an actual sequel to the 2006 Spike Lee movie Inside Man straight to Netflix. A group of Euro-robbers take hostages at the Federal Reserve in New York City led by a woman calling herself "Most Wanted". The FBI takes charge and Dr. Brynn Stewart (Rhea Seehorn) is assigned to lead. Smooth-talking NYPD hostage negotiator Remy Darbonne (Aml Ameen) joins the team. The robbers open up an unused part of the vault to find their intended target, Nazi gold.

This is mostly fine as a bank robbery capper. I like Seehorn and Ameen. They have good energy together. The robbers have interesting charisma especially the big guy and tiny girl. I don't really understand the Nazi gold aspect. Gold is gold and they're melting it anyways. I guess it's inferring that these are Nazis getting their gold back but Nazis stealing other people's gold would be just as good. It's a fine B-level movie which fits perfectly with having a quiet Netflix night.

This is the unexpected sequel to the Denzel Washington "Inside Man." They mention his character and have his picture on the FBI wall. A group of Germans decided they are going to steal a bunch of Nazi gold from the Federal Reserve in New York. We get into the same hostage situation. Aml Ameen plays Remy, a cocky negotiator who is more like Will Smith than Denzel. Rhea Seehorn is Stewart, our FBI lead. She is no Jodi Foster. The bandits are led by Ariella Barash (Roxanne McKee) who is a complex character.

If you liked the first one and want to see it done again with different characters and a slight twist, this one will do.
