Ranger Roland Sharp (Tommy Lee Jones) loses a witness to a big time case. Only a bunch of University of Texas cheerleaders (Christina Milian, Paula Garcés, Monica Keena, Vanessa Ferlito, Kelli Garner) can identify the witness killer as Agent Eddie Zane (Brian Van Holt). Now Ranger Sharp must pose as a cheerleader coach to protect the girls.

TLJ is doing his 'The Fugitive' character. The movie is counting on that TLJ with a bunch of scantily clad giggly cheerleaders is enough to make the audience laugh. It's not enough. The good news is that everybody is likable nice characters. The bad news is that none of them has a sufficient funny bone in their bodies.

From director Stephen Herek (Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, 101 Dalmatians),this film is a little panned by the critics, and I was interested to see if the leading actor was indeed wasting his talent. Basically Texas ranger Roland Sharp (Tommy Lee Jones) is assigned to protect a group of cheerleaders after they witness the murder of Morgan Ball (Curtis Armstrong) who was to testify against crime boss John Cortland (Turner Stephen Bruton). These five University of Texas cheerleaders, Anne (singer Christina Milian),Teresa (Paula Garcés),Evie (Monica Keena),Heather (Vanessa Ferlito) and Barbara 'Barb' Thompson (Kelli Garner),are now in the custody and under the protection of Roland, posing as their cheerleading coach. After moving into the large house with the girls, Roland's makes sure that the girls know that while they are in danger that he is in charge. As time goes by Roland is annoyed and irritated by the girls ditsy natures, girlie habits such as leaving knickers around and listening to music loud, and much more besides. Obviously he is growing to like them very slowly, and they also help him to try and have a relationship with Barb's English teacher Professor Molly McCarthy (Fatal Attraction's Anne Archer). Eventually the crime villains catch up to the girls, and there is a last chase sequence where the good guys and girls beat them, and the film ends with minister Percy Stevens (Cedric the Entertainer) marrying Roland and Molly. Also starring Brian Van Holt as Agent Eddie Zane, R. Lee Ermey as Captain Nichols, Liz Vassey as Maggie Swanson and real Governor of Texas Rick Perry. Jones is obviously a good reason to see this or any of his films, his female co-stars do alright as the pretty fit and pretty dumb cheerleaders, and there are some giggles, but it isn't an absolutely memorable action comedy. Okay!

The picture deals about a divorced Texas Ranger named Sharp(Tommy Lee Jones)and with a daughter.A group of University students cheerleaders(Christina Milan,Paula Garces,Monica Keena,Vanessa Forlito,Kelli Garner) have witnessed a killing of a key man in the accusation of a dope kingpin.The Texas Ranger must to protect the beautiful girls as an undercover agent assisting as coach.Meanwhile he's enamored of the attractive professor(Anne Archer) of the young women.

The film displays comedy,laughters,noisy action,tongue in check and is quite bemusing .It's a blending of comedy,thriller and beauties that will like to young public.Agreeable performances for all casting,the actors seem to enjoy themselves immensely.The reliable Tommy Lee Jones is enjoyable and likable as the two-fisted Ranger controlling the gorgeous girls by strict methods.He suffers several jokes and misfortunes in charge of the cheerleaders and confronting problems in his toughest assignment.If you like Lee Jones's liking playing ,you'll enjoy this one.Besides,Cedric the Entertainer as a sympathetic priest making an amazing musical-dance duo with the cheerleaders.Catching,adequate music score by David Newman and atmospheric,appropriate cinematography by Peter Menzies Jr.The movie is produced by Tommy Lee Jones,his only production along with former film ,the magnificent¨The three burials of Melquiades Estrada¨ .The motion picture is correctly directed by the comedy expert ,Stephen Herek.He has directed comedy-Sci-Fi(Bill and Tex excellent adventures),comedy-monsters(Creeters),comedy-sport(Mighty ducks),comedy-drama(Life or something like it),among others. Rating : passable and entertaining,the flick is diverting but not as Herek's previous films.
