Oh wow!! Look everyone - another PAINFUL Christmas 2021 movie that "The Hollywood Elite" are producing for the "Little People" to give us hope that our lives will some day be as amazing as theirs.

This movie will make you want to throw your television out the window.

Tia Mowry-Hardrict isn't my favorite actor. I've seen her play irreverent comedic roles too many times. In this movie she plays slightly more of a serious role in terms of Amber's romance with Eddie and her fostering of Lilly.

I also didn't like the premise of two people basically stalking Smokey Robinson, a big time celebrity. More often these movies sympathize with the celebrity trying to avoid rabid fans and reporters. This one starts off with a stupid promise by Tia's Amber to land Smokey for their pageant after which they brag about how relentless they are. At one point another character points out that there are laws against stalking.

As is often the case, the movie is made a little better by the cute kid who is up for adoption. Markeda McKay as Lilly does a credible job.

There is an interesting mix of devotion to Jesus along side hero worship for Smokey, but there is a moment when the true reason for the season, God's offering salvation through Jesus, is sincerely mentioned.

As my title implies, this movie pushed some of the wrong buttons for me and as a result I didn't enjoy it.

I didn't really enjoy the story line of having to have a particular entertainer to the point of stalking them. I have always liked the Mowry twins and Tia and Mark have great chemistry. This is not one that I will save on my DVR and watch again but it was worthy of 6 stars.
