The leads are major stars, and the film is enjoyable to watch them develop their characters. But both the writing and direction meander and stop and start to such an extent the film became annoying, even boring. And after all the misdirections, I didn't believe the ending at all.
Plot summary
Amar is an aging film star. A famous and wealthy man, he lives alone in Mumbai, a city of 15 million souls, the city of dreams. Tara, a widow, runs a small restaurant with the help of her son, who delivers Amar's meals. Tara has never seen Amar - except on the big screen. What began by pure chance a year ago has now turned into a ritual: for hours on end they talk to each other on the phone. Until one day, when Amar sets out to meet Tara in the flesh.

Great Actors; Erratic Storyline
Leaving or living your reality is a conversation away
What worked:
- amazing performances by Neeraj Kabi and Shefali Shan; there is no doubt they were the right cast for their respective roles
- beautiful and balanced screenplay. It's a story that we want to see but we rarely try to make movies about the topic and the circumstances.
- I loved the ending , no doubt. I was thinking of an alternate ending with the scenes that was shown at the end and maybe add some more dialogues which narrates that the reality and the imaginary worlds are yet to be met and accepted by the society and the world around them. It's still a great ending
Classic!
It's 2021 and this movie was released on 2018, I wonder how I missed this one.
Those dialogs and Mumbai city as it's catalyst was most beautiful things in this. This is an unconventional, slow paced and beautifully crafted love story with an exemplary performances by the lead! Shefali Shah as Tara steals the show as well as many hearts. She ornaments every frame in which she is present. She always has been an amazing actress and this is one of her best performance undoubtedly. Neeraj Kabi shining as ever, perfectly portrays Amar. His extremely relaxing voice is cherry on top of his performance. Highly recommended movie for all the 'cinema lovers'.
