Mulan meets The Swan Princess in this decent flick

The Swan Princess A Royal Wedding is a 2020 animated musical and is the 10th film off the original Swan Princess that was released back in 1994. Derek and Odette travel to China where they meet a princess named Mei who is getting married to her true love Chen. But when the evil Fang transforms Mei into an elderly woman while she poses as her,Odette and Derek must find the real Mei before it's too late. But will they find out that the fake Mei is Fang in disguise, while the real Mei is the elderly woman.

This is my first time to watch The Swan Princess as a computer animated film as the first 3 were hand drawn and there was different voice actors in the hand drawn ones compared to the newer films as the original Odette passed away 11 years ago.

If you are a fan of The Swan Princess do give this one a chance as I found it decent and fun.

good movie

I wonder if Fang is coming back because we really didn't not see what happened to her at the end of part10 movie and if she does return in part 11 wonder if she is going to kidnap princess Odette daughter so Odette will have to save her daughter and I would love to see princesses Odette fight Fang to save her daughter? I would love to see princess Odette get choked by her. In the nast fim.

The franchise has officially run its course

Even though I'm a millennial who grew up with the original film, I have embraced these newer films with open arms and looked forward to each installment. I loved the world building and mythology of the fifth film, I loved seeing Odette and Derek adopting a child, I've loved watching Alise grow up and having her own adventures. I also appreciate how they haven't just told the same story but with Alise (*cough cough* The Little Mermaid 2). I even love how each film uses the opportunity to introduce new characters and explore new kingdoms. But this latest (and perhaps last) outing has shown that the filmmakers have officially run out of ideas. I don't think a lot of fans are aware that Director Richard Rich and Writer Brian Nissen have written and directed every single installment of the franchise up to this point. This is probably why each film picks up after the last one and expands upon its story. But "A Royal Wedding" not only sidelines every main character, the characters it focuses on were only introduced in the last film and their problems don't even effect The Swan Princess or anyone in her kingdom, at all. Not to mention, Alise and Lucas took a big step in their relationship in the 9th movie and are completely absent in this film. This movie was okay, it stands on its own pretty well and it answers some questions brought up in the last movie. But it also left me with more questions than I had before, and if this is the last movie (which all signs point to),then this is the most disappointing way for the series to end. On the other hand, I feel like if they make anymore it can only get worse. Just let it end here, Nest Entertainment. I'm pleading.
