Blown away with the form in which this movie was delivered.
Plot is strong, there's not a single slow moment in it, still it manages to be funny and enjoyable. After leaving the cinema I immediately wanted to watch it (or at least listen to it) again.
Plot summary
It is a dynamic and hypnotizing story about love and the lack of thereof. It's a romance set in the times of disintegrating human connections, life long burden of loans in Swiss francs, box diets, cheap wine and a constant hum of social media. The action takes place in contemporary Warsaw and develops following the original rap beat. At first glance Kamil and Iwona have nothing in common. She is a bored and desperate wife living the luxurious life. He is 32 and still lives with his mother in an apartment building, dreaming about a hip hop career and working odd jobs. Their relationship looks irrelevant on the surface but it will force them to see their life choices and people around in a different light.—Warner Bros. Entertainment Poland

Crazy movie idea, excellent execution
Love Maslowska and rap, but...
I believe Dorota Maslowska changed a generation with her early novels. I love her unique style, word play, humour, wit. And I love rap lyrics.
But I hated this movie.
I wasn't much impressed with the book "Other People" when it came out. Yes, it was an experiment, but unlike her debut novel, the form she chose did not justify the existence of the book.
Pretty much the same can be said for the movie.
The plot is shallow. The script is predictable. The actors didn't have a lot to work, even the main character remains an unexplored galaxy. So the execution does not help although Sonia Bohosiewicz gave it her best shot.
Thumbs up for the trigger warning in the beginning.
As for the rest: too little with almost endless possibilities. Even the photography is hardly imaginative, but maybe I'm expecting too much after watching "Euphoria" lately.
Here drugs and alcohol are also involved but it's not a shiny, colourful ride. It's a slow-burn in which the feeling of regret comes much too early.
The Polish movie with rap dialogues turned out to be very cool.
A film in such universal hip-hop climates, with poverty, unemployment, drug dealers, casual sex, fascination with people who have money but who are no better.
All this to the rhythm of hip-hop dialogues with a hint of a gentle beat, and from time to time with spoken lines.
It's weird that black artists didn't think about it before, because this type of film looks good when one feels the scale of the production, not that it;s some amateur cheap movie.
The downside is that the movie is cool for the first hour after it gets a little too serious.
Well, they rap in Polish, so wait, maybe someday they will make dubbing with rap ;-P.
